This season marks the 144th edition of the world’s oldest cup competition, the FA Cup, with Manchester United as the reigning champions after defeating local rivals Manchester City in the final at Wembley.
While the usual suspects, such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, and the Manchester clubs, are likely to be in the running this season, teams without silverware in recent years, like Newcastle United, Everton, and even Chelsea (despite their European success), will hope to challenge into the latter stages.
Premier League clubs enter the competition from the third round, but every team, from non-league to EFL sides in the lower leagues, gets a shot at glory and the chance to face the country’s finest in the FA Cup.
